My long absence gives new meaning to hiatus.

While it’s only been six weeks or so, I miss Rachel Maddow and her ‘hiatus’ from MSNBC so much that I have withdrawal symptoms.

Rachel is off creating a new podcast and advising on the movie being made of her first book “Bag Man”. I eagerly await next week’s return of Rachel’s wit, wisdom and weaver of complicated stories about the challenging times we are witnessing in our country today.

Me on hiatus. . . well I’ve been writing a fashion blog for the women’s boutique where I have worked for seventeen years now. How trivial in comparison but so be it. That is where I have been spending so much of my time lately. While it has been kind of fun and I do have somewhat of a bigger audience, my original blog days were meant to record stories of family and friends that someday might be found and appreciated by the same.

Without a doubt, it is time to return to what I love most.

And. . . much to my amazement, I have heard several tales from many of you who have happened upon this Nanalogues Blog and given me some positive feedback. From my far away brother who wrote to tell me that he was moved to tears by some of our shared memories, to my two darling granddaughters who spent time on Thanksgiving reading my posts, to a cousin in another state who let me know that my words were meaningful to her and our childhood of many adventures, I need to give thanks to you all for giving me the encouragement to continue on.

With pictures and words, I hope to add more stories to this family blog. With luck and a bit of determination, I will have the time to do exactly that.

Look for a picture and a story coming soon.

Oh, and by the way, Rachel’s return this evening did not disappoint. She picked up right where she left off.

Now let’s see if I can do the same!!
